Patreon Now Live!
You may have noticed that last week I was offering a pre-order option for the India book including live-streaming, Q & A sessions, tips, a free book etc etc.
I freaked out.
WHAT IF I CANT FIND INTERNET!?
WHAT IF NOBODY *WANTS* ANY TIPS OR Q & A?
WHAT IF ONE PERSON SIGNS UP AND THEN I HAVE TO FIND WIFI ONCE A WEEK JUST FOR ONE PERSON!?
**deletes everything I've ever posted online. Sets fire to computer.**
I calmed myself down. Breeeeeathe. I reminded myself that I draw and paint because I like drawing and painting.
Really it's amazing how often I whip myself into a frenzy of OH SHIT WHAT AM I DOING that I forget the main reason i'm here scribbling on bits of paper is because it's a fun thing to do.
No matter what happens I will be drawing my way around India, and I know that I have a lovely gang of internet friends on Instagram who will be along for the ride, whether my Patreon account shrivels up into a stinky ball of terrible-idea, or if it goes really well and I hit my goal of 72 supporters.
Here is the new situation:
1. You can pre-order the book (£15)
2. Jump on the India bus, support a charity and get the bonuses ($1+)
You might not want to invest in a copy of the book, but if you're curious about the process of creating and self publishing a book of drawings and paintings, $1 keeps that going, while helping Goa Outreach :)
I'll be painting and drawing every day. I'll be recording some of it and sharing my experience, and I'd love you to come along!
Who are Goa Outreach?
Goa Outreach help street and slum children access education and medication.
Tourists giving children money on the beach means that it's more profitable for kids to hang out there, rather than go to school.
They get rice as a reward for attending school, which helps to feed their families.
Goa Outreach is combatting this and providing education, as well as things like toothpaste, soap, prickly heat powder, and sanitary towels for older girls.
I would LOVE to get 72 people on myvirtual bus to India.
Hitting this goal would also mean donating:
118 art kits (paints, brushes, palettes)
360kg of fresh fruit
68 bottles of prickly heat powder
SO MANY bars of soap, tubes of toothpaste, and sanitary towels
Thomas Cook have very kindly allowed me an extra 10kg of hand luggage to take over art supplies to donate and use for workshops. Thanks Tom. What a legend.
I am very excited that I get to label a suitcase full of paint as 'humanitarian goods'.
