Graphic Recording for Instagram's Creator Day India
Last month I was lucky enough to do some graphic recording and live illustrating for Instagram.
To celebrate Creator Day India, I scribed virtually as their panelists talked about lots of interesting stuff like

It was a brilliant new experiment to film my actual hands drawing the thing - normally I only show my iPad screen, so this interactive view sparked lots of new ideas.

Pros
Looks cool once it’s all set up
Engaging for workshop attendees
A lasting asset that can be uploaded to the client’s website, Instagram account, Facebook, YouTube and shared widely
Cons
Getting the lighting and angles right was tricky! I had to get a spirit level out and plug in both of my photography lights (my studio window is North facing so natural light is…rare. Haha.)
The 45 minutes of filming at high resolution led to a much larger file size compared with the timelapse video I usually offer.
It was extra high pressure to get everything right in one take. (Aaagh!) Thankfully, the footage was all pre-recorded so I took the time to watch the talk once all the way through before I sat down to film myself drawing the notes for it. Felt like cheating but shhhh, don’t tell anyone.
This was my first time filming myself drawing on my iPad overhead for a client - once it's set up it doesn't look too bad!
