The Illustrator Jobs Board

Real live event illustration work.
£15/month.

If you've ever wondered whether there are actually enough live illustration gigs to build a decent income around, THERE ARE! I see ‘em every week. This jobs board exists to put them directly in front of your eyeballs, so you can apply.

This is for you if:

01

You're a live illustrator, live scribe, graphic recorder, infographic creator, muralist, or visual practitioner

02

You already have the skills and portfolio to pitch confidently

03

You don't need someone to hold your hand - you’d just like a stream of extra opportunities to apply for

The illustrator jobs board is NOT for you if…
☠️☠️☠️

This is not for you if you're still building your portfolio or figuring out where you fit in the illustration industry. It’s also not a good fit if you feel like £15 feels like a financial stretch. You'll have a much better time over on The Good Ship Illustration — where I'm a co-founder. We have freebies for illustrators! A weekly illustration podcast!

The Good Ship Illustration was set up to help illustrators navigate a creative career. The Illustrator Jobs Board is just me flinging jobs in your face, and you might not be ready for that yet. 😅

Start with Good Ship, THEN come back here when you’re ready.

What you get

  • A regularly updated jobs board featuring real live event illustration briefs from real clients with real budgets.

  • I’ve made this monthly beacuse I do notttt want you to feel stuck here.

Come and go as you please!

Apply for one thing, leave, come back. Whatever. It’s your life. YOU ARE FREEEE!

  • I only share jobs with decent budgets. Elevating the industry and avoiding a race to the bottom is v important to me. I don’t want to mess up the live event illustration industry by running this board.

And I have to be honest with you. I can't control clients. Sometimes a job gets posted and the event changes direction. Or they decide not to hire anyone after all and ghost me (everyone gets ghosted. Wheeee freelance life). I'll do everything I can to keep you informed and to respect your time, but if you apply and don't land a job, it's not always a reflection of your work. It might just not have been the right fit - or occasionally, it might be worth taking another wee look at your pitch.

What I CAN promise is that the work is out there. And for lots of people, that’s the nicest thing about being a member of the illustrator jobs board.

  • Worst sales pitch ever, I know. But nothing stresses me out more than people joining the jobs board and then emailing me to say they’ve applied for 4 jobs and not heard a thing.

If you do join, promise me that you’ll understand there are no guarantees. I share real jobs, but I cannot control clients or force people to work with you.

If you don’t get a job, it’s more likely a reflection on the event organiser. It doesn’t mean your work is shit.

For your own mental health, it’s probably best to assume you will never get a job. Then if you do hear from a client, it’ll be a lovely surprise!

Also, because these are real jobs, some weeks will be quieter than others. There might be NO jobs some weeks.

Sounds terrible doesn’t it? GOOD. I don’t want you to think I’ve made anything up. I am horribly honest.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Pay £15/month

Monthly only. There’s no annual price, and no commitment. Zero hard feelings. Join, apply for one job, then immediately leave if you want to. Come back whenever it suits you. Or don’t! You don't even need to tell me! It’s genuinely optional and entirely on your terms.

2 Apply for jobs

It's not a course. Not a community. Not a coaching container. It's just a jobs board.

You’ll get an email every time a new job arrives. If you like the sound of it, you can apply by filling in a form.

3 Get a job! (maybe)

Applications are shared with the client, and it’s completely up to them from that point. If they like your work, they’ll get in touch with you!

BISH BASH BOSH

One last thing

This board runs on mutual respect. I put lots of effort into attracting nice, good-quality clients and juicy work and keeping the industry's standards up. In return, I ask that you bring that same respect to how you handle yourself - with me, with clients, and with each other.

BE KIND OR ELSE. Thank you!
