We had a wee Field Trip!
'The Cornerhouse Illustrators' met up at Julia Patton's beautiful home in rural Northumberland. We had a peek at her woodshed studio, drank coffee and pored over sketchbooks, thumbnails and picture books.
It's so good to have this local supportive community of fellow illustrators. Working at a desk in your house all day can get lonely. I always come away from our meet ups feeling inspired and recharged and ready to draw again.
Living in a tiny town is actually a bit good. Life after finishing my MA at Edinburgh College of Art has been weird so far - I've felt all anxious and worried about what to do, even though things are going well - but these guys make it all better.
Three cheers for having a gang!
