Transport for Edinburgh kindly sponsored my design idea, ‘Flowers of Scotland’, for the Oor Wullie Big Bucket Trail.
The trail has over 200 Wullies all over Scotland in Edinburgh, Dundee, Inverness, Aberdeen and Glasgow.
Here’s a wee photo of mine just in front of Edinburgh Castle, on the junction of Princes Street and Castle Street. It was great to see him again - I hadn’t seen him with his coat of varnish and I must say, he was looking very shiny and handsome.
He’s covered in thistles, gorse, and harebells - all flowers native to Scotland. Also, here’s a bit of schpeel I have no recollection of writing:
“The design is inspired by the resilient and beautiful flowers we have here in Scotland. It can feel cold, dull and rainy sometimes, but when the flowers are out, all is well in the world.”
No recollection whatsoever. *shrug*
Anyway, the trail will be happening until the 30th August 2019. You can access a trail map on the Oor Wullie Big Bucket trail website, and there’s even an app! (Search OWBBT on the App store).
Funds raised through the trail will support Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity,Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, and the ARCHIE Foundation, helping children in hospital across Scotland.
