Preserving the Magic: How to get your digital live illustrations onto paper!
“Heeey Illustrated Live, if we have digital live illustrations at our event is it possible to print them after?”
Mm-hmm! The world is your oyster when it comes to printing. We just need to know about it in advance to make sure it’s all sorted properly, as the standard license we use does not include an option to print.
So, if you know for sure that you’d like to print the work afterwards, give us a shout and we can discuss the price of a print license which is tailored to your needs. This takes into account where you plan on sharing the printed illustration, how many copies you’re going to print, plus the size of the work.
Why it’s useful for us to know about your live illustration printing needs in advance…
Depending on what kind of print you’d prefer, sometimes a print job might require a little extra work from us at our end to make sure the quality is spick and span!
Eg: If you want a huuuuge print of your live illustration, this means we might have to vectorise (aka: redraw or tweak) parts of the artwork to make sure that the printer captures all of the finer details - which it might not do if we use the image as it is. And we don’t want that to happen!
Reusing your illustrations isn’t limited to paper - Here’s what previous clients have done with their live illustrations
Giant wall decal stickers (imagine having an entire wall ILLUSTRATED? So cool.)
Enamel pin brooch - one client loved a character we’d drawn so much, that they had it turned into a beautiful badge for participants.
Postcards
Big pop up banners
Printed reports - we know you have to write lots of words sometimes, but sprinkling your illustrations throughout can elevate an ‘urghhh do I HAVE to read that?’ to an ‘OOH, what’s this!?’
We bloomin’ love to hear stories about how you’re sharing your live illustrations far and wide with your colleagues, and how you specifically plan to use the printed versions of the work after the event. The thought of our live event illustrations being out in the wild makes us very warm and fuzzy!
If you have any more questions about printing, we’d love to hear them to help give you as much insight as we can. So don’t hesitate to drop us a message!
