Making and Moving - Olympics Themed Crafts

This summer Chloë Smith and I have been running some art and dance workshops in Berwick upon Tweed called Making and Moving. They are for 6-12 year olds and we've been having lots of fun. You can have a look at our Twitter account here to see some photos of what's been happening.

Today the theme at Making and Moving was Olympics, in anticipation of the opening ceremony this Saturday the 6th of August.

We made olympic flaming torches, gold medals, ran around outside a lot and drew ourselves as Olympic athletes. I made a worksheet which is available to download here (just right-click and save to your computer and it should print out nicely).

The kids in our workshop today had some exciting Olympic sports like biscuit-eating, napping and 'being a fashionista'. Get your colouring pencils out and have fun.

If you're in Berwick and have a small person aged 6-12 we still have some spaces for the remaining few weeks of summer holidays! The last workshop is on the 31st of August. Feel free to get in touch.

See you soon :)

This weekend the much-anticipated dance performance Tidal was performed on Spittal beach and promenade.

This watercolour painting was commissioned to appear in the program which was available on both days of the performance.

A few nice people asked if prints would be available, and i'm excited to offer them here:

50% of profits will go towards Raleigh International to support Chloë Smith in her volunteering in Nicaragua this winter. For more information you can see her fundraising page here.
