Come with me… and you’ll be… in a world of live event illustration! A summer recap with Illustrated Live

It has been an in-person job extravaganza lately! So behold, our job wall of fame from the past few months! (Or at least, the bits we’re allowed to share so far.)

Warning: Some of these jobs were RATHER FANCY.

The Illustrated Live toilet selfies are in!

We’ve been all over the place recently and have therefore visited many venue toilets!*

Katie zoomed up to Edinburgh for a graphic recording / mural painting job in which she bravely captured the more realistic side of having a LOT TO DO. Vicky has been working her magic up north, and we popped Doti on a plane to Malta, of all places!

*For context, our founder Katie recently joked on Instagram that she keeps forgetting to take swanky pictures of events she illustrates at, but always manages a toilet selfie! Our team ran with this and we are now three months deep into toilet-selfie-ing at our events, which we then compare and contrast in our internal communications web each month. (Because let’s not take ourselves too seriously, please and thank you. And because let’s find out where the best toilets are, please and thank you.)

Up and away! Scribing cats

While in Malta, our live illustrator Doti did a stunning job capturing a short and sweet event for a cat food company. This was the second in a series of events for vets. The previous one was in Helsinki, and we managed to time it with Vappu - Finnish May Day, where everyone walks around wearing their graduation hats and eating special Finnish doughnuts!

Carbon-neutral sailing? Graphic recording on a (very big) BOAT!

We also found ourselves creating visual notes while live illustrating on a three-day cruise all about decarbonisation. Carbon-neutral sailing? YES PLEASE.

Zovi, one of our US team members, took on this exciting cruise challenge for us, and we’ve got to say, her snap of the ship has put our usual toilet selfies to shame!

We can’t really show too much from the actual event for this one, but live illustrating on a boat was a first for us. Very exciting!

Meanwhile, back on home turf…drawing on windows, walls and iPads

The wonderful Tamsyn from our team hopped on a train to Bristol for the day to bring to life an event all about reimagining volunteering. If your peepers are keen, you’ll have seen the full lowdown on this job in our previous blog. Go have a snoop if not!

The client was over the moon, as you can see from the pearly whites in the group shot pictured! Another piece of memorable feedback in the bag and another reason we are all super proud to be doing what we do with such talented people as part of our team.

Elsewhere on home turf, Katie found herself in both London and Edinburgh for some fancy pants scribing on walls and windows (because yep, we can do that too).

Our lovely illustrator B hopped over to Coventry to visually breathe life into an event for another client we have to keep under wraps, but an exciting one nonetheless.

And this is just a brief snapshot of what we’ve been getting up to in the past couple of months.

Why not hire a live illustrator for your next event? If your fancy has been well and truly tickled by the idea of having live illustrations at your event, you know what to do! Give us a digital nudge and we can have a chat.

The great thing about live illustration is that we can pretty much guarantee that your event attendees will want to look at the visual notes we create much more than reading the standard meeting minutes, and they will remember the event sooooo much easier too!

No brainer, right?
