3 Tips for Surviving (and thriving) as an Illustrator

There’s no sexy magic thing that will get you work as an illustrator.

*sad trombone*

BUT

These 3 things are sooo easy, and soooo doable, that you can start doing them right now and seeing results quickly.

Being consistent is really boring but has a huge impact.

  1. Have a website
I built mine using Squarespace. The website before this was built with Virb. Before that I used Wix. GO AND GOOGLE IT.

  2. Use social media
Don’t be scared to show your face as well as your work.

  3. Form a community
This will probably happen automatically once you start consistently sharing your work (and your face) on social media.

Make work, share work, make better work, keep sharing it, have a website (and do not rely on social media - it doesn’t belong to you), update that website, network with other illustrators and creatives.

BOOM. Fast forward a few years and it’ll all be golden.
