Live scribing, what does it look like?
So you draw at meetings and virtual events, what does that look like?
Last week I was drawing at the International Conference on Disaster-Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and since I’d logged on early just to make sure everything was working I had half an hour to film a little video to show you how it looks when I’m drawing at an online event.
Illustrated social media card
Before the event began, CDRI commissioned a social media card which they used to promote their online event on LinkedIn and Twitter.
And here it is!

Live illustration
In speaker view on Zoom, my illustration is there just as a little window, as if it was my webcam.
There’s no need to share my screen (and take over the entire meeting while keynote speakers are presenting - that would be a bit awkward.)
The illustrations sit alongside, adding extra engagement and creative interest to the proceedings while your attendees enjoy the content.
If you’d prefer to see no drawings at all, I can switch my camera off.
If, on the other hand, you DO want to see the illustrations and you’d like to present them bigger, I can share my screen, or you can spotlight me.
It's totally up to you!
I hope that answers some of your questions.

This is what your attendees will see :

You can see from these screenshots that ICDRI had a virtual environment for their event, which displayed the illustrations and keynote speakers and panelists in a frame that fitted with their branding guidelines.
Virtual environments are one of the best ways to elevate your online event
I wrote a blog all about it here!

Thank you to CDRI for having me at this prestigious event. It was a pleasure to illustrate!

I’d love to discuss your event and help you visualise your message.
